Project Description

The Corporation conducts routine maintenance and improvement works to slopes along the East Rail Line. The works will be carried out in phases starting from 2004.

Implementation of Phase I improvement works on four slopes located along the East Rail Line, was completed in 2008. The scope of works undertaken comprised the slope reinforcement, installation of water drains and surface protection. Some elements of greening like surface planting was also adopted to provide a better environment to the public.

Phase II improvement works on another four slopes located near Hung Hom, Tai Po Market and Tai Wo stations was completed by May 2011. Major works include soil nail works, shotcreting, seeding and drainage works.

Phase III improvement works on four slopes located near Kowloon Tong, Tai Wai, North of University and Tai Wo stations were completed in May 2013. Improvement works on another four slopes located near Ho Man Tin, Shatin, south of University and Tai Po Market stations commenced in July 2013 and is expected to be completed in 2015.

Improvement works on slopes located near Tai Wai, Shatin, Tai Po Market and Tai Wo stations are under planning and shall be implemented in stages after 2015.

Phase IV Improvement works on another four slopes located near Ho Man Tin, Shatin, south of University and Tai Po Market stations commenced in July 2013 and are expected to be completed in 2015.

Phase V Improvement works on slopes located near Tai Wai, Shatin, Tai Po Market and Tai Wo stations are under planning and shall be implemented in stages after 2015.
