Independent Metallurgical Analysis for New Light Rail Vehicles MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified consultants to express their interest in tendering for the provision of consultancy services for the independent metallurgical analysis for new light rail vehicles. 40 New light rail vehicles (LRVs) are planned to be put into service between 2018 and 2023. The scope of the services covers the metallurgical analysis, including chemical and mechanical analysis, to be carried out on the materials of the major structural elements such as the carbody and bogie frames of the new LRVs currently being manufactured in Puzhen, China and Graz, Austria respectively. The Consultant shall also verify whether the impurity levels of the materials of the major structural elements are within the relevant international standardse. The prequalification process for the tender will take place in February 2018 and tenders will be invited in March 2018. The Consultancy Agreement is scheduled to be awarded in April 2018. In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experience are requested to express their interest on or before 2 February 2018 via the MTR Corporation Limited’s E-Tendering System. Upon expression of interest, the applicants will receive an invitation of prequalification via the E-Tendering System. The applicants shall complete and submit all information and details as required in the invitation via the E-Tendering System no later than 2:00 p.m. (Hong Kong Time) on 9 February 2018.
