MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for the works for the migration of the operating systems riding on the existing Corporate Data Network (CDN) in Lantau Airport Railway (LAR) , i.e. Airport Express and Tung Chung Line as well as Disneyland Resort Line, and the replacement of the associated distribution data network at stations and depot along LAR and Operations Control Centre (OCC) in Tsing Yi.
The existing LAR CDN is a data communication network for LAR operating systems. In each station and depot along LAR and OCC, there are distribution data network switches installed to facilitate the data communications for the operating systems within stations and across stations.
All the network services of the operating systems riding on the existing LAR CDN will be migrated to a new Internet Protocol / MultiProtocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) backbone network being built under a separate contract. The existing distribution data network associated with LAR CDN will also be replaced.
The scope of the Works includes the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, setting to work, system cutover, training, documentation and repair of defects during the Defects Liability Period for the migration of the network services of the operating systems and the replacement works of the distribution data network including the decommissioning of the existing network equipment.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in November 2019 and tenders will be invited in January 2020.
