MTR Corporation Limited invites contractors to express their interest in tendering for the maintenance services for the Baggage Handling Equipment (BHE).
The BHE is to transfer passenger baggage from the in-town check-in counters at Hong Kong Station (HOK) and Kowloon Station (KOW) to Chek Lap Kok Airport via the Airport Express Line (AEL). The major equipment of the BHE consists of baggage conveyers, fire shutters, baggage containers, workstations, baggage reconciliation system, container governing system, management information system, ball mats, container hoist, on-train equipment, emergency platforms at Olympic Station (OLY) and Sunny Bay Station (SUN), etc.
The scope of the maintenance services includes the comprehensive corrective and preventive maintenance of the existing BHE including on-call services, software recovery, diagnosis, etc., to ensure all the equipment shall be in sound operating condition and efficient working order. The maintenance services period for the Contract is for five years with an option to extend the services for another five years. Major spare parts will be provided by MTR Corporation Limited.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in March 2018 and tenders will be invited in May 2018. The tender is scheduled to be awarded in September 2018.
In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experience are requested to express their interest on or before 27 March 2018 via the MTR Corporation Limited’s E-Tendering System.
Following expression of interest, applicants will receive an invitation of prequalification via the E-Tendering System. Applicants shall complete and submit all the information and details as required in the invitation via the E-Tendering System no later than 2:00 p.m. (Hong Kong Time) on 3 April 2018.
