Ticket Purchase and Usage

The Online Ticketing Service enables you to pre-order the following Airport Express Tickets and Tourist Tickets, which are available in the form of QR Codes or Tickets. Passengers who choose the QR Code can pass through the gate directly with the code. Passengers opting to redeem the tickets at the station need to go to the Customer Service Centre before entering the gate.

Choose either the QR Code or a ticket for:

  • Airport Express Single Journey Ticket
  • Airport Express Round Trip Ticket

The redemption of a ticket is available only for:

  • Airport Express Travel Pass
  • Tourist Day Pass
  • Tourist Cross-boundary Travel Pass
Payment Method:

Process:

  1. Browse through the ticket categories and select your required tickets.
  2. Once you have found the ticket you want, key in the quantity and click the "Order" button.
  3. Double-check the order details, and then click "Buy Now" to confirm your order.
  4. Complete your personal particulars, and then click the "Next" button.
  5. Double-check your personal particulars, and then click the "Confirm" button.
  6. Click "Continue" to connect to the Paydollar Payment Service.
  7. Complete your credit card information, and then click "Submit" to process the payment.
  8. Click "OK" to confirm the payment details.
  9. Click "OK" to confirm the payment transaction.
  10. After completion of your transaction, an "Order Confirmation" email containing the order number will be sent to your registered email.
  11. If you order the Airport Express Single Journey Ticket QR Code or the Airport Express Round Trip Ticket QR Code, an ˇ§Order Confirmationˇ¨ email with an order number and a QR Code will be sent to your registered email. If you purchase a QR Code ticket via MTR Tourist apps, the QR Code will be downloaded and saved to the apps folder under the ˇ§My Purchased Ticketˇ¨ function. If you choose to redeem the tickets at the station, you need to go to the Customer Service Centre with the ˇ§Order Confirmationˇ¨ and your credit card before entering the gate.
  12. If you do not receive the "Order Confirmation" email, you may sign in to the site and check the status of any order placed within the past three months in the "Order History" section or call the MTR Online Shopping Hotline.

All online payments must be settled by VISA, MasterCard or UnionPay.

Usage of QR Code (applicable to Airport Express Single Journey Ticket and Airport Express Round Trip Ticket only)

For the protection of your interest, please use the QR Code at designated Airport Express stations within 92 days from the ˇ§Order Dateˇ¨. You can use a mobile device to download the QR Code image(s) from the email confirmation and then place your mobile device on the QR Code scanner of the designated gate to pass through the gate. For QR Codes purchased via the MTR Tourist apps and saved in the apps folder under the ˇ§My Purchased Ticketˇ¨ function, select the ticket you want to use and the QR Code will be shown on the screen. You can then simply put your mobile device on the QR Code scanner of the designated gate to pass through the gate directly.

#Make sure that your mobile device is equipped with data access functionality, and that your mobile service provider does not block image downloads. Data will be transmitted when downloading the QR Code and data charges from your network operator may be incurred. When using the QR Code, please increase the brightness level of your mobile device for easier scanning of the QR code.

Ticket Collection Period and Method (applicable to all tickets)

For the protection of your interest, please present the following documents for verification at any one of the designated collection centres for the collection of your ordered tickets. All ordered tickets have to be collected within 92 days from the "Order Date".

  1. Copy of your email "Order Confirmation" or "Order History"; and
  2. The same credit card you used to place the order for signature verification.

At the time of collecting your ticket(s), you will be required to sign an acknowledgment receipt. The signature you use must be the same as that shown on the credit card you used to place the order. All the tickets ordered have to be collected at the same time; partial collection is not allowed.

Collection Centres:

The Airport Express Travel Pass, Adult Tourist Day Pass, Airport Express Round Trip Ticket and Airport Express Single Journey Ticket can be redeemed at the following Airport Express Customer Service Centres:

  1. Airport Station (on the arrival platform)
  2. Tsing Yi, Kowloon and Hong Kong Stations

Remarks:

If you would prefer not to wait at the Airport Station, go straight to the train and redeem the ticket(s) at the Customer Service Centre when you arrive at your destination.

The Tourist Cross-boundary Travel Pass can be redeemed at the following stations:

  1. Lo Wu Station (Counter number 12 on the Ticketing Concourse), 6:30a.m. to midnight, Monday to Sunday
  2. Lok Ma Chau Station (Counter number 6 on the Ticketing Concourse), 6:30a.m. to 22:30p.m., Monday to Sunday

Intercity Through Train Ticket - Payment and Collection Methods

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express for online purchase of Intercity Through Train tickets. Please note that only Guangdong line tickets are available for sale online and tickets must be collected in Hong Kong.
