Riding on the MTR is more than just a daily routine for some passengers. For local artist Ms Jackie Gan Pui-ling, it is a source of inspiration. The public will be able to see how their MTR ride is portrayed through Ms Gan's oil paintings when her latest exhibition entitled "Where are we going to?" opens today (1 December 2008) at "arttube" in MTR Central Station. The exhibition will be held until 31 January 2009.

"Each painting showcased in this exhibition uses the MTR train compartment as a stage and depicts how different people's paths cross during that train journey," explains Ms Gan who is a regular MTR passenger.

The MTR moments are captured through oil on canvas reflecting Hong Kong as a city of individuals always on the move, consumed in their own thoughts and searching for their next stop, both literally and metaphorically.

"MTR passengers spend much time each day inside the train and I want to share with them how their actions have become an inspiration to my work," Ms Gan adds.

So where are you going to? Why not make a trip to "arttube" in MTR Central Station (Entrance/Exit J) as your next destination to view these artworks - you may even see yourself in one of the paintings.
