The 48 artworks on display through the "Art in MTR" exhibition are winning entries of "The 37th International Children Drawing Contest cum Photography Competition" organised by the Junior Chamber International Harbour. Award winning photos capturing the excitement of the competition are also displayed at the exhibition.

Based on the theme of "We Love Harbour", children aged 4 to 13 were invited to share creative artworks with the public depicting their ideal marine environment and the problems associated with pollution of the ocean. "The response to the contest was overwhelming. Apart from local children, it attracted entries from around 300 children from Cambodia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Malaysia, " said Mr Kenneth Yu, President of the Junior Chamber International Harbour. "This competition provides a platform for children to unleash their potential in art and creativity and an opportunity for them to learn more about environmental issues. "

"By offering spaces in our stations to display the works of these young artistic talents, we hope to raise customers’ awareness of marine conservation and the importance of protecting the biodiversity in our marine ecosystem," said Ms Linda So, Corporate Affairs Director of MTR Corporation.
