MTR New Railway Lines Art in Station 2012
Taking Station Art to a Whole New Level

Hong Kong is coming to see the completion of a number of new railway projects from 2014 onward. Alongside the world-class rail service on these new lines, the MTR Corporation will also be providing passengers with truly world-class station environments, taking our commitment to promoting art in railway stations to a whole new level.

The Corporation has partnered with the Art Promotion Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to call on Hong Kong and overseas artists to submit original station artwork proposals for three new community railways, namely the West Island Line, the Kwun Tong Line Extension and the South Island Line (East).

A total of 30 proposals were shortlisted by the adjudication panel and showcased at a number of MTR stations in November 2012. Final adjudication was held in late February, and the final results will be announced later.
