Community art galleries

Like many good ideas, MTR's "community art galleries" started out small and have grown in stature due to their success.

It all began in February 2000 when two footbridges adjoining Lam Tin Station were converted to display paintings and drawings from the local community, including works by students at neighbourhood schools and artists from non-profit making groups. The "community art galleries" programme gives residents a feeling of home with the MTR stations being integral parts of the community.

Today, there are a total of 53 such galleries spread throughout the MTR railway system providing highly popular venues for people from different walks of life to display their artworks and creative talents to the community at large.
