MTR X Hong Kong Repertory Theatre:
Master of Railway Safety School Tour

It is the age-old struggle between good and evil. Captain Smiley and the Evil Pouting Alien battle for the galaxy all the way from outer space to Earth!

Injured while trying to save passengers onboard a galaxy train, Captain Smiley and his Lieutenant Smiley®World escape to Earth and require the help of Hong Kong students to get back to space. By demonstrating safe and courteous behaviour on the MTR, the students can fuel-up Captain Smiley's spacecraft. But they have to watch out as the Evil Pouting Alien is intent on spoiling their efforts. Can the students help Captain Smiley to win the day and return to the galaxy?

Sponsored by the MTR Corporation, the exciting drama is created by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre (HKRep), this is the first collaboration of its kind to integrate stage performance with railway safety education since 2011.

In 2011-12, the interactive play was presented for free to 20,000 students in a tour to 50 primary schools. For this academic year, the Tour will again stop in at 50 primary schools. It will also be adapted for community performances and as a specially designed interactive story-telling session for a tour of 50 kindergartens to teach an even younger audience about railway safety.

MTR X Hong Kong Repertory Theatre: Master of Railway Safety School Tour 2012-13 is designed to enhance students' appreciation of drama and help develop their creativity. At the same time, it will help to instill in passengers, from a young age, the importance of safe and courteous behaviour when taking the MTR.

The experience does not end with the stage performance. Students are encouraged to explore their own artistic talent and show their mastery of railway safety by coming up with drawings based on the theme "Safety at MTR, Good Manners, Common Courtesy". For more information, please click here.
