Reporting a Lost Octopus Card
If you hold a Personalised Octopus Card or use the Automatic Add Value Service (AAVS), you will enjoy special privilege.
If your Octopus Card is lost or stolen, you must report its loss immediately by notifying the Octopus Lost Card Hotline's 24-hour Interactive Voice Response System on (852) 2266 2266. Prompt reporting the loss or theft of your Octopus Card will prevent its unauthorised use and minimise any losses you may suffer. Please note that once your Octopus Card has been reported as being lost, it cannot be used again even if it is found.
If your Octopus Card is lost or stolen, you will only be liable for:
1. The loss arising from unauthorised use of the lost card and any value auto-reloaded to it via AAVS during the first three hours after you successfully report your card's loss.2. A non-refundable Lost Card Administration Fee of HK$20, and
3. In the case of an On-loan Octopus, the card cost of HK$30.
