Returning and Obtaining a Refund on a Normally Functioning Octopus Card
You may return and obtain a refund for a normally functioning Octopus Card at any Customer Service Centre. To be eligible for a refund, the returned card must be in good condition and have a remaining value not exceeding HK$500. If not, your card will be sent to Octopus Cards Limited for further handling. If returning an Octopus Card within three months of its issue date, you will be required to pay a refund handling fee of HK$9*.
A refund handling fee of HK$10 will be charged if you return a Personalised Octopus Card. This handling fee will be waived if your card was issued before 1 Nov 2004.
Refunds will not be offered for "Sold" type Octopus Cards.
