Free Wi-Fi Service
New-look iCentre

Passengers can connect to internet via the computers installed at iCentre. Even more, the passengers can also enjoy free Wi-Fi service with personal computers or handsets within iCentre. 15 minutes per session. Each eligible device is limited to 5 sessions per day. Furthermore, iCentres are under revamp gradually from now to April 2012.

Setting

  1. Press settings
  2. Press Wi-Fi
  3. Make sure Wi-Fi setting is on, then select MTR Free Wi-Fi

Confirm and browse

  1. Return to main screen. Turn on browser.
  2. Press "accept" after reading terms of service.
  3. You are now connected to the Internet.
  4. Please open a new window to browse.

Time Limit

15 minutes per session. Each eligible device is limited to 5 sessions per day. A fresh session will start with every new connection. If the connection is disconnected and restarted, it will count as a new session.

Remarks:
The above demonstration is based on an iPhone setting. Adjustments might be required for passengers using different mobile devices. Daily sessions are calculated from 00:00-23:59

Free Wi-Fi service

  • The use of the free MTR Wi-Fi service by each eligible Wi-Fi device is limited to a maximum of 5 sessions of 15 minutes each per day (from 00:00 – 23:59).
  • First set the network name (SSID) to "MTR Free Wi-Fi". Launch your Internet browser. Type any URL into the address field and you will be redirected to the MTR Free Wi-Fi Service login page automatically. Click the "Agree and connect" button after you have read and agreed to the Terms of Use the Service. You can now enjoy the free Wi-Fi service.
  • Some mobile headsets will auto-switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data connectivity under some circumstances. To avoid auto-switch to mobile data connectivity, you could consider switching off the 3G data function when using the Wi-Fi service.
  • The free MTR Wi-Fi service is provided by PCCW. PCCW is responsible for the quality of service provided. All users are subject to the Terms & Conditions of PCCW listed on the first page when you access the Wi-Fi service.
