Student Octopus Card Concessionary Fare on MTR Bus
(MTR Bus in Northwest New Territories)

Eligible students using Personalised Octopus card with "Student Status" can enjoy concessionary fare when travelling on the following MTR bus routes*. Such concessionary fare is equivalent to the fare paid by child / senior citizen. However, when travelling on the MTR Feeder Bus, full adult fares must be paid at all times.

*506, A73, K51, K52, K53, K58, K65, *K66, K68, K73, K74, K75, K75P, K76

 

Notice to passengers

To ensure you enjoy a safe and comfortable journey when travelling with Light Rail, please observe the following rules:

  1. Never attempt to board or alight a bus while it is in motion.

  2. Always board or alight buses through the designated doors.

  3. Always move into the bus compartment after boarding.

  4. Never obstruct bus staircases or doors.

  5. Never stand on the upper deck or staircase of a double-decker bus.

  6. Never allow children to run inside the bus compartment.

  7. Always hold on tight to a handrail while standing and fasten your seat belt if one is installed on your seat.

  8. Never lean your head or any other part of your body out of bus windows.

  9. Always remove or dispose of your rubbish when leaving the bus.

  10. Never eat or drink inside a bus.

  11. With the exception of registered guide dogs for the blind, carrying animals onto the bus is prohibited by law.

  12. Always be courteous and offer your seat to senior citizens, disabled persons or pregnant ladies.

  13. Smoking on buses is strictly prohibited by law.

  14. Open all upper deck windows during typhoons (except on air-conditioned double-decker buses).

  15. Only parcels sized less than 0.1 cubic metres which do not contain goods of a dangerous nature will be allowed on buses.

  16. Always tender the exact fare or pay by Octopus when boarding a bus as no change will be provided. Passengers are not allowed to collect fares from their fellow passengers while on board a bus.

  17. Senior citizens aged 65 or over and children aged under 12 will be charged 50% of the full adult single fare rounded up to the nearest 10 cents.

  18. Children aged under three who are accompanied by an adult and do not occupy a seat may travel free of charge. No more than two children can travel free of charge with any one adult.

  19. Scheduled bus frequencies may be adjusted in line with prevailing traffic conditions without prior notice to passengers.
