Express Rail Link (Hong Kong Section)
The HKSAR Government announced to proceed with further planning and design of the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) in April 2008.
The Express Rail Link will provide frequent services from a new terminus at West Kowloon in Hong Kong to Shibi in Guangzhou, via Futian and Longhua in Shenzhen and Humen in Dongguan. The link will also connect to the national express rail network which will provide long haul services to other major cities in the Mainland.
