SCL PROTECTION WORKS
The proposed SCL Protection Works involves the construction of an approximately 160m long tunnel box by Cut-and-Cover method from temporary reclamation.
These works mainly consist of:
- 0.7 ha of temporary reclamation (of which 0.3 ha had been authorized under Central-Wan Chai Bypass project) to provide a dry working platform.
- Construction of concrete tunnel box by Cut-and-Cover method which involves installation of temporary walls, excavation and backfilling.
- Removal of temporary reclamation (except a small part at the southwest corner of the temporary reclamation which will be removed when future SCL tunnel is connected to the proposed South Ventilation Building (SOV)).
- Relocation of the temporary RHKYC jetty within the CWB temporary reclamation to a new location.
