The merger presents a window of opportunity in realising the value promise to stakeholders, in particular, rail passengers. In fulfilling the five parameters set by Government for the rail merger, the MTR Corporation now provides travel within a single network that has reduced fares and allows free interconnection amongst rail lines within the system. As such, fares are more competitive and boost the added value of fast, convenient and seamless rail travel.
