ENVIRONMENT MTR
delivers a world-class railway service, transporting over 2.3 million passengers
every day. In doing so, MTR makes a significant contribution to reducing
traffic congestion, noise and air emissions in the densely populated urban
surroundings of Hong Kong. However, as discussed in Corporate
Sustainability Section, there are a number of environmental issues that
are considered to be priority risks for MTR's overall business. A selection
