Our MTR rail network including the dedicated Airport Express and the commercial and residential property developments adjacent to our railway supports Hong Kong's status as an international business and financial centre. In addition to providing world-class commuter transport services, we support the city's services-based industries and are a major contributor to tourism with operations of the Disneyland Resort Line and the NP360 cable car, a religious-themed tourist attraction, as well as serving AsiaWorld-Expo, the city's newest convention and exhibition centre.

Through our business model of rail+property we influence the development of the communities adjacent to our rail transport hubs, delivering on our master vision for quality living environments. The property development at Tsueng Kwan O Area 86 brings this to life. When completed, residents of this new community will own high-quality housing, have cultural and recreational amenities at their doorstep, walk at street level with minimal vehicular traffic and benefit from urban planning that incorporates the surrounding natural green environment.. This will be achieved in a large part through the pedestrianisation of the community and its environs in which transport interchanges and access roads are located below ground.

The principals of our master vision for community living environments form a strong component of our internationalisation strategy. Our proposed Shenzhen Metro Line 4 advocates pedestrianised communities linked through a "green" rail network. This urban planning is being closely monitored by other mainland cities as a model for their own urban development in conjunction with mass transit railway systems.
