2001 Achievements

 

¡P        Property Design

    • Optimised Overall Thermal Transfer Value (OTTV) -  The target will be dependant upon the sites pursued for development, however, it is envisaged that the Kowloon Station Development Package 5, 6 & 7 may be a site which will be designed to achieve optimum OTTV
    • Adopted Electronic Ballasts - The target will be dependant upon the sites pursued for development, however, it is envisaged that the design/installation of electronic ballasts may be completed in 2 new office buildings
    • Adopted Variable Air Volume (VAV) Air Conditioning - The target will be dependant upon the sites pursued for development, however, it is envisaged that the design/installation of the VAV system of air conditioning may be completed in 2 new office buildings
    • Adopted Seawater Cooling - The target will be dependant upon the sites pursued for development, however, it is envisaged that the design/installation of over 40,000 refrigeration tonnes of seawater cooled chiller plant may be completed for new property developments
    • Adopted / designed to maximise the utility of renewable resources and materials from sustainable sources (50% complete)
    • Adopted / designed to encourage recycling of materials during construction and operation phases

    • Maintained record of zero use of diesel hammer percussion piling for the construction of new property developments
    • As appropriate, encouraged the adoption of metal hoarding for new development sites
    • As appropriate, encouraged the adoption of metal formwork instead of timber formwork for building construction in new development sites
    • Encouraged the use of tropical hardwood from managed sources only (50%)

Adopt Energy Saving Light Fittings in the design of the new shopping centre in Kowloon Station Development and the park-and-ride carpark in Choi Hung Station Development.

Adopt Variable Speed Pumping System in the design of the new shopping centre in Kowloon Station Development for potable water supply system, and in the new office building in Kowloon Station Development Package 5,6 &7 for the air-conditioning system.
