From 14 June to 8 August 2010, traveling on MTR* with Adult Octopus card for cumulative fare deductions of $100 from Monday to Friday: or cumulative fare deductions of $50 for Elder/Child Octopus card, Personalised Octopus card with "Student Status" or "Persons with Disabilities Status", entitles you to redeem an MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon at designated MTR Customer Service Centres before the train service ends on Sunday of the same week. You may also obtain a redemption coupon from any eInstant Bonus Terminal^ for redemption of cash coupon later.

Terms and conditions of the Promotion:

  1. From Monday to Friday in each week during the promotion period, passengers traveling on MTR with Octopus card (except Airport Express, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus) can obtain bonus points - 1 point for every $1 of fare deducted. Fare below $1 will be calculated as: $0.5 to $0.9 equals to 1 point, $0.1 to $0.4 will not have point. All points will only be calculated by the exact amount deducted at MTR exit gate.
  2. Passengers who accumulate the required points in the same Octopus card from Monday to Friday within the same week are entitled to an MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon. 100 points are required for Adult Octopus card; 50 points for Octopus card with concessionary status (includes Elder/Child Octopus card, Personalised Octopus card with "Student Status" or "Persons with Disabilities Status"). Redemption of the cash coupon should be made on or before the train service ends on Sunday of the same week at MTR Customer Service Centre in unpaid area (except Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations, Airport Express and Light Rail).
  3. Passengers may choose to obtain a redemption coupon at any eInstant Bonus Terminal, and redeem the MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon at the above mentioned locations before the train service ends on the following Sunday (redemption deadline and details are printed on the redemption coupon). Passenger must complete the collection of redemption coupon from eInstant Bonus Terminal 10 minutes before the station close.
  4. Required points will be deducted upon redemption of MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon or redemption coupon. The cash coupon is limited, while stock lasts.
  5. Points requirement for redemption depends on a passenger's status. If the passenger has lost the concessionary status at time of redemption, the required bonus points will be 100 (Adult Octopus card's requirement).
  6. For passengers interchanging at Tsim Sha Tsui/East Tsim Sha Tsui stations, points will be calculated according to the fare deducted at exit gate of each leg of the journey.
  7. Passengers travelling with Monthly Pass will not obtain points on rides to/from designated stations. However for other rides beyond the designated stations or on East Rail Line First Class, the additional fare deducted will be calculated for points.
  8. If passengers take MTR and then interchange for Airport Express, Light Rail, MTR Bus or other transportation with interchange discounts, points will be calculated according to the MTR fare upon exiting the ticket gate.
  9. If passengers take Airport Express, Light Rail, MTR Bus or other transportation with interchange discounts before interchanging to MTR for final destination, points will be calculated according to the net fare deducted at MTR exit gate. If that MTR fare equals to or is lower than the fare of the previous leg of the journey, this ride will not earn points.
  10. The bonus points will be recalculated from the beginning of train service each Monday morning. If passengers do not redeem MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon or redemption coupon before the end of train service on each Sunday, all bonus points on the Octopus card will be invalid and deleted immediately after entering the ticket gate.
  11. Each Octopus card can accumulate a maximum of 1,000 points. Passengers should redeem before reaching the accumulation limit so as to avoid losing potential point accumulation.
  12. All cumulative points on an Octopus card will be deleted and will not be recovered if the card is lost, returned or damaged.
  13. Cumulative points can be checked at Octopus Enquiry Processor or eInstant Bonus Terminal.
  14. In the event of weather or other unavoidable situations which result in trip cancellation or no fare deduction, that ride will not earn points.
  15. Promotion dates specified above are based on the operating hours of the MTR.
  16. The MTR Corporation Limited reserves the right to make the final decision in the event of any dispute.

Terms and Conditions of Redemption Coupon of MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon:

  1. The redemption coupon cannot be used directly at the designated MTR Shops. Passenger must redeem an MTR Shops $5 Cash Coupon before the validity printed on the redemption coupon at MTR Customer Service Centre in unpaid area (except Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations, Airport Express and Light Rail). The redemption coupon will be forfeited after the validity.
  2. Complete and original copy of redemption coupon must be presented upon redemption. The cash coupon is limited, while stock lasts.
  3. The redemption coupon cannot be exchanged for cash. No replacement will be made if it is lost or damaged.
  4. The MTR Corporation Limited reserves the right to make the final decision in the event of any dispute.
