living art

By staging live musical and theatrical performances at MTR stations, the "living art" programme adds an interactive dimension into the "art in mtr" initiative.

Started in October 2004, the Central Subway of Hong Kong Station has been converted into a stage for professional artists and amateur performers to demonstrate their artistic talents to the public. Performances are held every Friday evening from 6:00 pm to
6:45 pm. Passengers can relax and take a break from the stress and pressure of city life.

A Cappella Performance

A Cappella Performance

A 19th century form of music a cappella is enjoying renewed interest in Hong Kong and a series of a cappella performances were held through the "art-in-mtr ˇV living art" programme at Hong Kong Station. Meaning 'in the style of the chapel' in Italian, a cappella is a vocal performance without the accompaniment of musical instruments. Instead, the performers emulate the sounds of instruments with their voices and microphones.
