Available for sale from 9 November, while stock lasts.
When the operations of Hong Kong's two railways merged on 2 December 2007, a new page was turned in the city's rail transport history. The Single Journey Ticket System integration is a milestone signifying the successful completion of the Rail Merger. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Rail Merger and the successful integration of the ticketing system, MTR is issuing a limited edition Rail Merger 1st Anniversary Souvenir Ticket Set from 9 November 2008. Priced at $98, each ticket set includes 3 souvenir tickets with designs based on the 1st generation of Single Journey Ticket, a ticket holder and a mobile phone strap with mini tickets and ticket issuing machine. The ticket sets will be available for sale at all MTR Customer Service Centres while stock lasts (except Airport Express, Light Rail, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations). Each person is limited to two sets per purchase.
With the launch of an Integrated Single Journey Ticket System, passengers are now able to enjoy seamless travel on the whole MTR network using only one Single Journey Ticket, including interchange journeys at Kowloon Tong, Mei Foo and Nam Cheong stations.
- The ticket sets will be available for sale from 9 November 2008 at the start of the MTR train service.
- Each ticket is valid for one single journey to any destination on the MTR on or before 31 January 2009.
- Tickets cannot be used on Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, journeys to or from Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations, Light Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus.
- Tsim Sha Tsui and East Tsim Sha Tsui are two separate stations. Another Single Journey Ticket should be purchased when changing lines at Tsim Sha Tsui or East Tsim Sha Tsui station.
- Malfunctioning tickets can only be exchanged on or before 31 January 2009 at any MTR Customer Service Centre (except Airport Express, Light Rail, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations).
