Introduction

In October 2007, the Government asked the Corporation to proceed with further planning and detailed design of the West Island Line. The latest scheme was gazetted under the Railways Ordinance. This is an important milestone of the West Island Line Project.

On the other hand, the Policy Address mentions that the Executive Council will soon examine the South Island Line (East) proposal with a view to authorizing it to proceed with preliminary design. The Corporation will continue to work closely with the Government to pursue South Island Line (East).
