Hangzhou Metro Line 5

Hangzhou MTR Line 5 Corporation Limited, a joint venture of MTR Corporation (60% shareholding) and Hangzhou Metro Group, is responsible for investment and construction for electrical and mechanical systems as well as the operations and maintenance of the Hangzhou Metro Line 5 (HZL5) for 25 years after full line opens.

On 26 June 2017, the MTR Corporation signed a Concession Agreement with the Hangzhou Municipal Government and Hangzhou Metro Group for the Hangzhou Metro Line 5 Public Private Partnership (PPP) project.

The 56.2 km Hangzhou Metro Line 5 is an underground metro line running from Guniangqiao Station in Xiaoshan District to Jinxing Station in Yuhang District with a total of 39 stations. The full line opening of HZL5 was on 23 April 2020. The latter section of HZL5 added 27 new stations to the 12 stations in the initial section of HZL5 that opened in June 2019.
