Sydney Metro West Line

MTR Corporation, as a shareholder and delivery partner in the Metro Trains West (MTW) Consortium, a joint venture with a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited, was awarded the Trains, Systems, Maintenance and Operations (TSMO) contract for the Sydney Metro West project in Sydney, Australia, on 19 December 2025.

The new 24-kilometre underground line will feature nine new stations and is targeted to open in 2032. The MTW consortium will deliver core railway systems, including next-generation driverless metro trains, signaling and communication systems, system integration, testing, commissioning, and operations and maintenance of the Sydney Metro West network for 15 years after the line opens.
