SHENZHEN METRO LINE 13

Shenzhen Metro Line 13 (SZL13) Phase I is operated by MTR CREC Metro (Shenzhen) Company Limited, a Joint Venture Company comprising MTR Consulting (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd (“MTR Consulting (SZ)”), China Railway Electrification Bureau (Group) Co Ltd., and a subsidiary of the Shenzhen Municipal Government under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

On 3 August 2020, MTR Consulting (SZ) was awarded the tender for the SZL13 PPP project, responsible for the investment and construction of the project, and operation of SZL13 for a term of 30 years after completion.

On 28 December 2024, the initial section of SZL13 Phase I commenced passenger service, running between Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint Station and Hi-Tech Central Station. The full line of SZL13 Phase I commenced service on 28 December 2025, running from Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint Station through the core areas of Nanshan District to Shangwu Station in Bao’an District (except for Xili High Speed Railway Station). The full line comprises 16 stations with a total route length of about 22.44 kilometers. It is the second metro line that the Corporation is involved in operations in Shenzhen.
