MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified companies to express their interest in tendering for the provision of plant and equipment for the Integrated Wheelset Maintenance Centre (iWMC) at Ho Man Tin Siding to enable a high degree of automation to centralise the inspection, maintenance and reconditioning of wheelsets.
The Works includes the design, manufacture, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of plant, equipment and facilities with proven and / or state-of-the-art process automation technologies to provide an annual throughput for at least 3,000 wheelsets with minimal supervision and manpower. The plant and equipment shall include but not limited to the following: -
a) Automatic Material Handling System for moving wheels and associated wheelset components;
b) Automatic Inspection and Testing Stations for automating the inspection of new or reconditioned wheelsets and its components;
c) Major Wheel and Axle Profiling, Washing and Painting Machineries and Wheelset Components Assembling and Dismantling Stations; and
d) Digital Database and Production Management System to digitalise wheelset maintenance and inspection data for predictive analytics and to deliver real-time monitoring of productivity and shop-floor operations for smart work planning and management.
The prequalification process for the tender is tentatively scheduled to take place in 1st Quarter 2020 with tenders invited in 2nd Quarter 2020.
In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experience are requested to express their interest on or before 18 February 2020 via the MTR Corporation Limited’s E-Tendering System.
After expression of interest, applicants will receive in due course, an invitation of prequalification via the E-Tendering System. The applicants shall complete and submit all information and details as required in the invitation via the E-Tendering System no later than the time and date stated in the invitation.
