Provision of DCS Network for 5G Services

MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for the provision of a Distributed Communications System (DCS) at selected stations and the associated running tracks along Island Line (ISL), Kwun Tong Line (KTL), Tsuen Wan Line (TWL), Tseung Kwan O Line (TKL), Tung Chung Line (TCL) and Airport Express (AEL) to support various mobile phone services signals.
The scope of the works includes the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, training, documentation and defects rectifications during the Defects Liability Period of the provisions as follows:
1. provision of a new DCS infrastructure to support 5G services in the 3300-3600MHz frequency band or upgrade of the existing DCS currently supporting Mobile communication (GSM), Personal Communication System (PCS), Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) and LTE services in the frequency bands of 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2300MHz and 2600MHz to additionally support 5G mobile phone services in the frequency band of 3300-3600MHz; and
2. modification of the existing E&M systems including the low voltage power supply, air-conditioning and fire protection systems at designated station plant rooms to cater for the increase in anticipated power demand and heat dissipation for the above DCS provisions.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in July 2021 and tenders will be invited in September 2021.
