MTR Corporation Limited invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for the provision of Mobile Broadband Radio System in Light Rail Line (LRL).
The objective of this project is to provide a Mobile Broadband Radio System riding on public 5G mobile networks to replace the existing LRL Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) System.
The existing Central Equipment of the TETRA System in LRL is located at Tuen Mun Building (TMB) inside Tuen Mun Depot (TMD). The TETRA System is currently providing radio services to
i. Traffic Controllers through Dispatcher Workstations (DWS) in Light Rail Operation Control Centre (OCC);
ii. 700 number of Hand Portable Radio units users;
iii. Train captains on 140 number of Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) and
iv. Drivers on 110 number of Light Rail Buses.
The scope of the Works includes the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, training, documentation, decommissioning, system cutover, seamless system migration and rectification of defects during the Defects Liability Period of the replacement works including the decommissioning of the existing LRL TETRA System.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in October 2020 and tenders will be invited in December 2020.
In order to be considered for prequalification, interested parties having relevant resources, qualifications and experience are requested to express their interest on or before 23 September 2020 via the MTR Corporation Limited’s E-Tendering System.
