Eight budding local artists have joined hands to capture their impressions of Hong Kong as their home city in the latest “Art in MTR” exhibition to be staged at Exit/Entrance J of Central Station. Commuters can experience the diversity of the city through the eyes of artists, including Ms Tang Ying-chi’s landscape paintings, the wood carvings made by Ms Violet Shum and Mr Dave Ho, as well as portraits by artist Bisweet.

This exhibition, entitled “Live Living: JCCAC Arts@MTR”, features over 40 artworks created by eight emerging and acclaimed resident artists from the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) from 28 April to 4 July 2021. These artworks making use of diverse mediums consisting of painting, wood carving, photography, illustration and installation art revisit different facets of living, dwellings and society.

“At a time when people aspire to more holistic lifestyles, art becomes a treat in our everyday existence. We hope people will find the diversified exhibits to be thought-provoking and maybe even inspirational in jazzing up their life and living spaces,” said Ms Lillian Hau, Executive Director of JCCAC.

“Art and life are inextricably interwoven. Art is a source of inspiration in our daily life and it also takes us out of our routine and relieves stress. This exhibition is part of MTR’s efforts to enliven passengers’ lives in their MTR’s journeys,” said Ms Linda Choy, Corporate Affairs Director of MTR Corporation.
