"Mr Bruce Lee is a representative figure of Hong Kong around the world. His spirit of striving for breakthroughs at the top is also reflected in our public transportation development. We have the world's best public transportation system with a comprehensive railway network that aligns with international standards. However, we must continue to seek "breakthroughs" to build a new railway standard for Hong Kong's railway system, and make it one of the new "world standards". I extend my gratitude to MTR for its thoughtful efforts in utilising station spaces to hold various cultural and artistic activities, bringing small moments of happiness to passengers' daily lives," said Ms Mable Chan, Secretary for Transport and Logistics.
"Mr Bruce Lee is an internationally acclaimed figure who introduced Chinese martial arts to the world. His martial arts philosophy transcended traditional boundaries and embodied a revolutionary way of thinking about martial arts. This spirit resonates with MTR's commitment of agility, efficiency, and continuous innovation amid the rhythm of city life. By showcasing Mr Bruce Lee's precious collections at MTR Hong Kong and Central stations, we aim to create an inspiring cultural space amid the urban hustle through an interactive artistic experience. We invite passengers to embark on this cultural journey and draw inspiration from Bruce Lee's philosophical wisdom toward achieving breakthroughs and innovation," said Dr Jacob Kam, Chief Executive Officer of MTR Corporation.
"Celebrating my father's 85th birthday in Hong Kong—the city where he grew up and achieved extraordinary success—is an incredible honour. The MTR is a vital connector of communities in Hong Kong, much like my father's legacy, which transcends generations and cultures. This exhibition is the ideal platform to promote his spirit and philosophy, and it is my hope that the public can gain insights into his resilience and wisdom during their daily journeys as they flow throughout the city. May everyone find inspiration in his story of courageous breakthroughs and continuous growth as we celebrate his 85th birthday!" said Ms Shannon Lee, Founder & Chairperson of the Bruce Lee Foundation and daughter of Bruce Lee.
