MTR strives to create a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive and excel.
Recognising the talents and strengths of people from diverse backgrounds, MTR's "EmpowerZ" Youth Placement Pilot Programme is specifically designed for individuals who are ethnically diverse (i.e. non-Chinese) and/or have a disability (including special education needs). Through providing 1-year full-time work opportunity, the programme aims to enhance their professional competence and catalyze their career development.
Participants in the programme will gain solid work experience in one of the departments in MTR and will be supported by a designated mentor, buddy and a dedicated team. They will also develop essential skills and build their confidence through a variety of workshops and activities.
The application deadline for this programme is 29th April 2026. We welcome candidates who are ethnically diverse and/or have a disability who meet the following criteria to apply via the MTR Careers website:
1) holders of degree / associate degree, and
2) have no more than 3 years of work experience.
After completion of the programme, candidates with satisfactory on-the-job performance may be considered for an on-going employment opportunity.
We encourage eligible applicants to contact our NGO partners to receive application-related support, including understanding the applicant's job seeking motivations, background, and needs; and offering guidance for job interview if the applicant is successfully shortlisted.

To investigate the impact of the "EmpowerZ" Youth Placement Pilot Programme for Diverse Talents (the "Programme") on various stakeholders and provide valuable insights for MTR's future community investment programmes, successful applicants of the Programme will be expected to participate in the Social Return on Investment Research as part of their commitment to the Programme.
