Press Release Content:
Children from Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan share their visions of "Love, Care and Harmony in Diversity" through drawings depicting the difficulties and discrimination faced by the underprivileged and ethnic minorities. The drawings are entries in the 32nd International Children Drawing Contest organised by Harbour Junior Chamber.

From today (18 July 2011) to 8 August 2011, more than 60 winning entries of the contest are on display in the latest "art in mtr - roving art" exhibition at MTR Kowloon Tong Station. Also on show are winning photographs that capture the highlights from the competition. The exhibition will move to MTR Sheung Wan Station on 11 August 2011 and run until 5 September 2011.

"The International Children Drawing Contest stimulates children's interest in art education and also enhances the participants' relationship with their parents through continuous support," said Ms Stella Chan, President of Harbour Junior Chamber. "Through 'Love, Care and Harmony in Diversity', we hope the next generation can broaden their horizon through understanding the beliefs and values of different cultures."

"This exhibition allows passengers to realise the immense creativity and talent of children," said Mrs Miranda Leung, General Manager - Corporate Relations of the MTR Corporation. "It is important that people with different abilities and social background are appreciated and accepted as a part of the community."

"art in mtr - roving art" is an on-going initiative featuring temporary art exhibitions at different MTR stations. About 10 exhibitions are held each year to promote local artistic talent and the public's appreciation of art.
