Passengers will be able to appreciate more than 30 outstanding pieces of art work including Chinese and Western paintings as well as Chinese calligraphy, which are on display as part of the "art in mtr – roving art" initiative.

"This display underscores MTR's strong commitment to working hand-in-hand with community groups in fostering youth development," said Mr Jay Walder, Chief Executive Officer of MTR Corporation.

"Holding exhibitions like this one in our stations encourages young people to explore their creative talent and to deepen their engagement and interaction with the community. Their art work also enriches the daily travel experience for our passengers."

The Youth Arts Festival exhibition features prize-winning entries from a territory-wide competition organised by the Ma On Shan Youth Association as part of the Youth Arts Festival 2011. The competition attracted more than 400 entries.

"Youth Arts Festival promotes exchanges and mutual learning among young people. It motivates them to participate in cultural and artistic creation which in turn nurtures the development of individual qualities, enhances social cohesion and fosters creativity," said Mr Gary Yeung Man-yui, Founding President of Ma On Shan Youth Association.

"art in mtr - roving art" is an on-going initiative featuring temporary art exhibitions at different MTR stations. About ten exhibitions are held each year to promote local artistic talent and the public's appreciation of art.
