Rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction, the 546-hectare Fairy Lake Botanical Garden integrates various experiences, such as plant species collections, botanical research, scientific education, travel and recreation. It is also one of the important bases for scientific research on ornamental plants in China. The garden is rich in flora, with about 12,000 species of plants in total.

The garden has six main scenic spots featuring lake, temple, desert, fossil forest and plants. The most photogenic spot is the Cacti and Succulent Garden inside the America Hall, where you can find many species of cacti in a transparent hemispherical greenhouse.

The famous Hongfa Temple is also located in the garden. Inside the temple are the Hall of Celestial Kings, the Grand Buddha Hall and the Depositary of Buddhist Sutra. This large and magnificent temple is always crowded with worshippers and visitors.

Getting there:

From downtown area: Take Shenzhen Metro Line 2. Get off at Xianhu Rd Station and walk about 8 minutes from Exit C3.
From East Rail Line Lo Wu Station: Get to Shenzhen Metro Luohu Station on foot. Take Line 1 and then transfer to Line 2 at Grand Theater.
From East Rail Line Lok Ma Chau Station: Get to Shenzhen Metro Futian Checkpoint Station on foot . Take Line 4 and then transfer to Line 2 at Civic Center Station.
