OCT Harbour

Unique architecture, art installations, laser fireworks and more!

OCT Harbour is a great place for a fun and taking awesome photos. Covering an area of 1.25 million square metres, it is a national 5A tourist attraction that combines ecology, culture, entertainment, shopping and art. The artistic mangrove landmark symbolises the only mangrove forest in a Chinese metropolis, a trove in the city. Next to it is Shenzhen Tourist Information Centre, with its unconventional rhombus-shaped glass curtain walls and a high-tech sense. Both landmarks are must-see spots!
The OCT Creative Exhibition Centre is also an eye-catching sight. Inspired by ocean drops and pebbles, it takes you into a surreal space. Green building and low carbon concepts are adopted by the venue. The lighting system adjusts according to the number of visitors, which is a complete break from the usual museum style! The Centre also hosts a variety of exhibitions from time to time. So keep an eye out for their latest news.
The Dream Aquarium is a 720° immersive deep-sea experience with projection and AR interactive technologies. Of its three areas, namely the Jellyfish World, the Coral House and the Happy Sea Lion Theatre, the Jellyfish World is the largest with more than 20 kinds of jellyfish on display. The maze & tunnel design, coupled with lighting effects, create a serene blue environment for you to get close to the most beautiful and varied animals in nature. It’s indeed a dreamlike spot for photo-taking!
Quan Yuan is a club built on culture, art and aesthetics. With a two-storey book wall, as well as an interior decorated with paintings and sculptures, the club is filled with literary and artistic atmosphere, making it arguably a meditation space away from the hustle and bustle. Workshops on handicrafts, tea ceremony, ancient zither, books and other themes are held from time to time for spiritual cultivation and self-enhancement. Enjoy a special afternoon tea with artistic presentation of food and tableware to delight yourself in the aroma of books and tea.

After nightfall, the Sparkle Flow with five major installations is not to be missed. In particular, the jellyfish-themed “Waterfall of Light” has a sensor that captures the number of pedestrians and changes the effect with sound. What a romantic, beautiful and “IG-able” experience it is! Nightly surprises unfold one after another. A large laser fountain show called “Mysteries of the Deep Blue Waters” is performed at Water Show Theatre. Partnered with the renowned French team ECA2, the crew combines the 3D light sculpture projection technology with 3D water screens, fire traps, laser, music and fireworks. Literally a feast for the eyes and the ears, the show is a perfect endnote to the OCT Harbour trip!
