Xinqiao Civic Square

Save yourself a long-haul flight for a Roman vacation! The Shenzhen Xinqiao Civic Square, spanning an area of 113,000 square metres, provides ample open space for leisure. As you walk into it, you will see Romanesque architecture and statues, as if you were taken back in time to Ancient Rome. Any spot in the Square will make for a perfect social media shot. You can go there in the morning to feel the laid back European vibe in the sun, or at night to enjoy the gorgeous night scene under street lights. The “Roman Galaxy Corridor” is definitely the most eye-catching structure of all. The ivory-white, Roman-style pillars and reliefs along the passage make it a spectacular and elegant background for your photos. By striking a perfect pose at the right angle, you can easily capture magnificent European tour moments. Look up at the ceiling and you will see pictures of constellations before your eyes, giving you an immersive feel of the greatness of the universe!

Another must-go spot is the Clock Tower in the Classical Revival style. Inspired by European design, the tower built of red brickwork stands out in a plaza of muted tones while the bell brings a sense of ceremony by ringing on the hour.

If time allows, stay for the musical fountain and light show in the evening (2 sessions per night: 19:30 – 20:00 / 20:30 – 21:00). With the light effect and the water curtain changing in synchrony with the musical rhythm, and with romantic illumination at different corners of the Square, the show is a feast for the lenses as well as the senses.
