Wanchai【Exhibition Centre Station “Remains of War” + Wan Chai Promenade + Hong Kong Exhibition Centre】

Traveling from Hung Hom Station to the new Exhibition Centre Station takes only 5 minutes. Once you step out of the train at the lower platform towards Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau, you will see a wartime exhibition named “Remains of War”, which demonstrates the construction challenges of East Rail Line cross-harbour extension, as well as the display of a 1,000-pound World War II bomb casing discovered during the construction of the station. As you travel along the station, you will also see many pictures of the Victoria Harbour, as well as the artwork “Water Memory” created by artist Mr. Leung Chi Wo.

From the station’s Entrance/ Exit A3, walk for 6 minutes and you will reach the Wan Chai Promenade, where you will find many photo spots such as nostalgic mailboxes, traditional iron gates and Wan Chai’s famous neon light decorations. From Entrance/ Exit B2, you will reach the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre with a 10-minute walk for visiting Book Fair, Food Expo and more.

HKParkFlagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware

From the mega interchange Admiralty Station Entrance/ Exit C1, take a 10-minute walk and you will reach the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware inside Hong Kong Park. The museum houses the permanent exhibitions of historic and modern teaware, while holding activities such as pottering demo and tea art. The nearby restaurant, LockCha, offers various Chinese tea and vegetarian dim sum, making it the perfect destination for people who love tea, art and dim sum!

TaiPoShaTinHong Kong Railway Museum

Converted from the old Tai Po Market Station, the Hong Kong Railway Museum is a traditional Chinese architecture with a triangular roof. The museum houses a historic steam engine, an Australian-made diesel motor back in 1950, as well as a vintage train compartment. If you want to learn more about the development of Hong Kong’s train, you’re at the right place!

Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre
A unique combination of Chinese and Western culture, Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre is a building complex ranging from Christian cross to Chinese garden. From Sha Tin Station Entrance/ Exit B, follow the slope and stair and walk up the hill until you reach this Grade 2 Historic Building with many photo spots such as the Christ Temple and the Labyrinth. The route to get there takes only 30 minutes, making it the perfect destination for beginning hikers who want to learn more about Christianity.

Travel Tip: As the hiking route is fairly remote from the town centre, don’t forget to buy enough water and food from the station before you start!
