MTR’s “Year of the Tiger Ticket Set” ushers in a vibrant new year
Two designs connect the past and the present through art

HK$100 for one set

To ring in the Year of the Tiger, MTR will launch a limited number of a new “Year of the Tiger Ticket Set” on 15 January 20221. The ticket set consists of two designs: one that features the artwork of MTR’s very first “Year of the Tiger Ticket” from 1986, and one that reinterprets this first-generation design with the iconic MTR mosaic element.

On 1 February 2022, i.e., the first day of the Year of the Tiger, the ticket set can be used for unlimited rides on the MTR (domestic journeys)2, Light Rail, MTR buses and MTR feeder buses.

MTR launched its very first “Lunar New Year Ticket” back in 1986. The idea to launch a Chinese zodiac commemorative ticket series was born out of the Staff Suggestion Scheme in 1984. The idea was met with enthusiasm, and the series eventually became the most popular MTR commemorative ticket series. With the launch of the latest “Year of the Tiger Ticket Set”, the series has been released for 36 consecutive years.

The “Year of the Tiger Ticket Set”, which includes two tickets of different designs and a ticket holder, is priced at HK$100. Each set also comes with eight red packets in an auspicious red colour, whose design is inspired by the MTR mosaic element.

The above products1 are available at all MTR, Light Rail Customer Service Centres3 (unpaid area), MTR Mobile and online, each purchase up to two sets while stocks last.

A special discount will be available for online purchases during the promotional period4.
