Nam Fung Tunnel

Works Description

Proposed works at Nam Fung Tunnel are the construction of a tunnel section for a route length of about 3.5km from Admiralty to Nam Fung Tunnel portal (located at the ex-Canadian Hospital site at Nam Fung Road).

These works comprise:

Construction of a tunnel section from Admiralty to Nam Fung Tunnel portal by drill-and-blast tunnelling method;
Construction of a ventilation building at the tunnel portal entrance at Nam Fung Road plus the associated slope stabilization works;
Construction of an elevated enclosed box structure at the ex-Canadian Hospital site;
Operation of a rock crushing plant for the rock generated from the tunnel; and
Provision of site offices and areas for construction material storage.

This website presents a user-friendly summary of the contents of the EIA Report, including the potential impacts due to the project, the recommended mitigation measures and the results of applying these measures. Technical terminologies were rephrased in common-language terms to aid in its understanding. Graphics have also been used where possible to aid understanding, and are not designed to be actual representative examples of conditions on site.
